PlayWell founder Lauren Silver is a jolly-anxious clown and Preventative Care Consultant who has worked with corporate and creative clients worldwide for over 15 years.
Her work is charming, joyful, and full of humanity, and she campaigns for proactive and preventative mental health care within the workplace.

A qualified Mental Health First Aider and with a certification from the Counselling Foundation, Lauren also works as both trainer and Ambassador for the Liverpool based charity Chasing the Stigma.

By coaching people to be more playful and creative in their work and life, Lauren is an expert in cultivating confidence and joy in others. Through her career, she’s developed a purposeful play toolkit that can be tailored for anyone and everyone and has an unparalleled knack for unlocking potential in people.

As a corporate trainer, she works with leaders from within international humanitarian agencies; specialising in Personal Impact, Creative Strategic Thinking, Crisis and Conflict Management, Innovation, Behavioural Change and Leadership.

As a clown, she has played in national and international venues, including London’s Vaudeville Theatre, Liverpool Everyman/Playhouse and Sydney Opera House. Lauren is also an associate artist for Pleasance Theatre.

Liz Barker
Access Advisor

Liz Barker is a disabled and neurodivergent, multidisciplinary theatre-maker based in Liverpool. Liz puts access at the core of their work, using their lived experience of autism and neurological disability to advise, consult and contribute to making theatre and live art more accessible for artists and audiences. Liz has advised on the accessibility of Pleasance Theatre Trust (with PlayWell), Ugly Bucket Theatre, Homotopia Festival, and RAWD (where they are also a trustee).

Outside our access advice, Liz works as a Lighting Designer and Production Manager. They are the director of March for the Arts and Acting Company Director of Ugly Bucket Theatre.
